Working Principle
Tyre Couplings are comprised of two flanges connected by a rubber tyre. The tyre is soft and flexible, which helps the coupling handle significant shock loads and misalignment. It utilizes a split design, enabling the radial replacement of the rubber band without the need to reposition the hubs or realign the driver or driven machinery, and minimizes downtime.
The tyre's fabric can be arranged in either a radial (R arrangement) or transversal (X arrangement) configuration, resulting in varying spring stiffness. Tyres with an R fabric arrangement exhibit lower torsional stiffness, while the X arrangement is more effective for reverse operations and handling shock loads.
